Can't I Just Dance With the Broom Instead of Sweeping With It?

Well today we cleaned the house. Or at least, I cleaned some of it. No one else did any work. I decided to sweep the floor. This time I was trying, instead of just dancing like I usually do. I was sweeping near where my dad was playing his computer game when he turns to me and says, "Goodness child, didn't anyone teach you how to sweep?!?" I thought for a moment and said, "No." So he grabbed the broom and started to sweep. "Wow," I said. "Can you show me that doing the whole room?" He said he couldn't, so I had to sweep the rest of the kitchen. I still don't get it.
